2000 Acura EL, rear fender arch rust on both sides.
As you can see I purchased replacement fender arches, but I after getting estimates from a couple of body shops they want 2200-2400 CAD to cut out, weld, paint etc. I can't do this myself because I have no welding experience.
I was thinking for something much cheaper or possibly DIY I could cut out the rusty area and attach some fender flares. The rusty area would be that whole leg section toward the front and at the back just mostly near the arch, I don't think the rust goes as high as the fuel door.
Is this a viable option?
(Another option maybe is to use these replacement fenders as my "flares" and bolt them on instead of welding them on?)
