89 civic random culture and sputtering till shuts down
The car runs fine but occasionally stalls out on my daughter. I noticed first hand yesterday. I checked light under passenger carpet. 4 flashes the 8 flashes. Car is running fine at this moment. Does it store codes or is this the code when running fine?

See the link above for explanation of codes. The faulty sensors these codes indicate are both located in the distributor. I suggest you check and clean up the grounds first just in case that helps.
If a replacement distributor is required, an auto parts store may be advisable over ebay. It's not cheap, but the warranty could be very valuable.
