Have a D16y7 motor with a P2P ecu.
trying to connect wiring. Help.
on a honda civic 98

The correct ECU for the engine is P2E.

if I get the p2e would i have to change the whole wiring? Because the one I have on right now I have the vtec hanging

Not the whole wiring, but you likely would need to make some wire modifications. The replacement P2E ECU should come from a 96-98 Civic with the same transmission and EVAP system.
