Radio/speakers quit working? HELP
Hello before I get into this, I have looked around the internet for some solution and I took a look at these forums and did not find anything.
If I just overlooked it please fwd the link so I can read it, thanks!
I have a 2015 civic LX and I upgraded my speakers from stock radio to JBL concert series 621f. (stock radio) I went to my buddy's house who helped me throw them in, nothing too hard right?
Well, it worked great for the test ride afterward, no issues whatsoever. But on my way home, it was about 0130 and I could hear this popping noise like there was a bad ground somewhere
.
I pulled over on the highway under a light post so I could see somewhat and it was my passenger side truck speaker. I could see where it was arching on the metal so I tried to work it around and stuff the area so it wouldn't make contact until I could pull everything back off to get to it. Got back into the car the radio still worked but I turned it off just because I didn't want to possibly damage my brand new speakers until I could properly fix the issue.
I am driving home in silence and I started hearing that popping noise again, I chose to just drive through it and get home.
The next day I was off of work, so around 1300 I went out pulled the speaker out, made corrections, and went to test the speakers. Nothing, no radio, no BT, nothing. Unplugged that one speaker just to see if the others would kick on and silence. I started thinking that maybe it blew the fuse for the radio (buttons and everything still worked, just no sound) so I started looking for a fuse, couldn't find it. Looked on google, nothing. So now I am kind of stumped on what I need to do to make these work again. Half tempted to throw the stocks back in just to see if it would work.
Has anyone had something like this happen to them before? Or can you point me in the right direction so I can make my driving enjoyable again.
P.S My friend who helped me install them suggested that it may be the fact that its still the stock radio, would this possibly be the issue?
