RPM gauge not working and Shut Down
Hello,
So as the title says my RPM gauge is not working at all. At first, I tapped my spedometer and it fixed the gauge as it started reading RPMs but now it doesn't work at all. The weirdest thing is that today, my car randomly shut down as I was going 40mph on the street, luckily there was no one around and I was able to get to the side of the road. I waited about 10 seconds and started the car up again and it ran good so I just went home. Is this related? How do I fix the RPM gauge?
CAR: 2001 Honda Accord LX V6 (Automatic Transmission) 2 Door Coupe.

Gauge cluster receives data from the PCM.
See if there are any stored codes in the PCM with an OBDII code reader/scanner.
It could be a loose or faulty connection to the PCM, if the PCM doesn't receive a signal the dash will not show it properly.
Check basics.
Verify battery terminals are clean and tight, no corrosion on the cables.
Verify battery is fully charged and holding a charge, 12.6 is ideal.
Verify the ground connections and bonding jumpers are clean and tight. Loosen, remove corrosion, clean, use an anti-oxidant and retighten.
Verify engine harness has not been damaged.
Verify any recent work or seemingly unrelated issues that the vehicle may have occurred.

I scanned it but it did not show me any codes.
I also checked the terminals, they weren't corroded but I cleaned them and tighten them. The battery was fully charged and holding it. I checked the ground connections too and checked to see if they were tight. Checked the harness and its fine.
I still have the issue, kind of wanted to solve it on my own but I might take it to a mechanic because I'm afraid of it shutting down on me again and the lack of the RPM gauge is really annoying.
Any other tips though? Thanks

Yes I checked the connections, but I found out what was wrong. So the previous owner installed some wiring that gives the speedometer a backlight. Its not like on my 2002 Honda Accord where the light is produced by the 3 green connections (idk what they're called). So the solder that gives the rpm gauge its light/power was disconnected. I need to re-solder it and it worked with just electrical tape but the tape didn't hold it tight so it was loose.
Thanks for your help though, I highly appreciate it
