2013 Accord EX-L V6 Push Start Button Issues
Okay, I have done a fair amount of searches and I haven't found anything spot on similar. This problem first started by not cranking and beeping when I pressed the start button. I began having to hold the key fob directly to the push start button for it to crank. Flashes on the dash "NO KEY." I replaced the key battery and the problem still continued. I took it to the dealership and paid for a diagnostic fee and the problem is the push start button itself, apparently. Keyless entry does not work, the car beeps like there is no key nearby when I start it, and the trunk release doesn't work either. I have found the push start button several hundred cheaper than what the dealership will charge me overall. The only problem is, replacing the start button could require tools for programmin I do not have and only a dealership/ key specialist would have, or so I think. I just tested the battery and got 12.59 mv. I never have a problem starting, I just have to unlock the door with the manual key and hold the fob to the start button. I spoke with a guy at the dealership and he told me something like the fobs and something behind the start button "stay programmed." So, is the start button interchangeable without any programming? Should I just pay for the dealership?
I have seen some stuff about relays and fuses, but I am not sure where to start with my specific problem. Any help is always appreciated!

A little research on my end shows that the keyless switch module is probably the actual culprit. So the price you are getting is probably for a new switch and new module.
That would require a visit to the dealer.
The keyless switch(start button) is a straight forward replacement with no other steps involved. However I think you're not quite understanding the dealers recommendation, or they are leaving out details in regard to the repair.

”found keyless access control unit internal failure” - quoted from the diagnostic sheet.
I’m getting about a total $600 quote from the dealership. That’s with me getting “25% off” apparently. Looks like I won’t get the diagnostic fee back either. They said the part itself is about $350 and I found the part on a OEM Honda parts website for $265. I guess I brought this on myself trying to price check with another dealership also and then seeing if he will price match.

I meant to put the part number down. (=1.5rem38329-T3L-A11)

A note about pricing:
There are very few(if any) brick and mortar stores that can compete with internet pricing. They(physical stores) have a lot of overhead that online retailers dont and their prices reflect that.
As for store to store pricing, I suggest you look for the place with the best reputation, not the lowest price. (those two things rarely go hand in hand, particularly in auto repair)
Good luck
Ah, so it is the module. You will not be able to complete the job you self.

Dealerships will use OEM parts even if you bring them right? Or is there a surcharge? I just feel like they are trying to stick it to me now. Because of how many times I’ve called haha
Our carrier(independent repair shop) will not cover us in the event of an accident or some other loss if we use customer supplied parts, so we dont.
Additionally some shops will add a surcharge for lost revenue from parts sales.
Only way to know for sure is to call and ask.....
