Default cutoff switch / kill switch

hi my 96 civic just got stolen in front of my house and got it back within 2hrs cop found it in dt. i got a steering wheel lock on the steering wheel. when i got it back i dont see any metal shaving on the floor so i guess they got another way of taking off the steering wheel lock without cutting? anyways im thinking to inside a cutoff/ kill switch on the car i was wonderng what location is a good place to install it on? the police that found my car told me to change out the door lock to a aftermarket ones that wont be easy to open with a screwdriver? is there such a thing an aftermarket door lock?

i like this guys video on making a fuel kill switch theres a couple good hidden spots to put a switch, just remember youll want it hard to locate but easy to reach. the location in this thread is a nice well hidden one. i have no idea about aftermarket locks, maybe he meant just having them all re-keyed, i dont know.

theres two security tear off bolts circled below on the steering column. some ppl have a way to loosen, break or remove them to get passed the steering lock. if theyre no longer there or broken or removed buy new ones from honda directly theyre actually cheap i replaced mine once after i had to "hotwire" my own car home from a music festival i lost my keys at. the hex head to install them breaks off at the proper torque when tightening them down.

I always put after market alarms in my old Hondas. The idea of noise seems to be a good deterrent. I've had those around me broken into but they leave my cars alone.
