Maybe I can get some help here. I been chasing this issue for a week and dont want to continue to drive hee until I fix it.
Cold start car turns on but instantly dies or idles really low until it dies. I can give it gas and some times even doing that it'll die. Most of the time giving if gas will keep it alive until cel comes on, once cel is on it revs normal and drives fine. Once warmed up turns on no issues no giving it gas and no cel.
Cel code that flashed today was 9
Before that cel was always just solid.
Motor was rebuilt and swapped into my hatch.
Drove fine for a week then I got my valves adjusted and next day this issue started. The day I got valves adjusted turned on no issues thru out the day even after sitting for 4+hrs.

 

Has new fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs+wires, dizzy cap and rotor and main relay

 

Check test or replace the ECT sensor.

But code 9 is the crank sensor inside the distributor. Check the wiring to the distributor and make sure all the wires are in the plugs all the way in. Or try a working distributor.
