Default H22 CRX swap question

Hey everyone,

After going back & forth between so many swap options, I finally settled on doing an H22 swap into my CRX Si, after getting a good deal on an H22A (Euro-R) and trans, and an Elicit Speed swap kit. My one challenge right now is I have a limited window of time to at least get the engine & trans. placed and I'm trying to decide on what to do on the CV axles. The Explicit Speed kit instructions say to use '88-'89 Acra Integra axles with the passenger side custom made 1/2" shorter, and to just get them from Insane Shafts... Problem is I need a quicker solution, so can't I just mill off 1/2" myself since I have access to a machine shop? Has anyone done the same?

if you have access to a machine shop and know how to use the machines then yep just do the shave

but before you do that make sure both sides of the axles fit the trans and your hubs
otherwise the machine work would just be a waste of time you know

I ended up finding Insane Shafts in Stock at a local shop (NorCal Auto Stylez)... Exact same application, only the 1000hp version (gasp). Paid an arm & a leg, but now I'dm set for when I upgrade my motor to whatever the heck I want.

So now I'm looking at shifters for this setup... Hybrid Racing's RSX v3 Short shifter? Or K-tune' RSX shifter? What's the best?

I may have to turn this thread into a "How-to" deal with plenty of pictures, because I've had to figure out a few things using this Elicit Speed kit. I'm a little peaved right now because of how half-assed they made the instructions, mainly because they don't tell you some of the H22A motors have a different engine mount bracket, on the driver's side, that the Elicit engine mount won't work on. The bracket I'm referring to is the piece that mounts directly to the engine block (and is hidden partially by the timing cover). My H22A is a Euro-R out of an Accord, and I had to go to the wrecking yard and get a mount bracket off of a 2000 Prelude with an H22A. I sure wish Elicit had that info in their instructions, because it was a pain to get taken care of... We had things all planned out on finishing the engine drop today at my buddy's house, then having the car towed down to my place to finish it up today, now everything has been delayed & is costing me more money.

Could only imagine a 1st gen crx, that would prob involve major framerail cutting etc. I will say the innovative and yonaka stuff made my h/f eg swap pretty straight forward but it sounds like efs are more complicated. Worth weight savings regardless imho.
