hi ineed help on my vtec b16a engine. it cannot rev past 3500 rpm.rough idealing. when i down shift gears there will be pop sound and very heavy to accelerate car speed. but its easy to start up the engine it goes one kick to run. i already do change sparks plugs cableplugs, map sensor, service the iacv sensor,set the tps, new distributor.

 

Check your mechanical (timing belt) timing... at your crank pulley and cam gears. If all are at TDC at the same time, then we will need to go in another direction.

 

Also if there’s check engine lights check there. If the Ecu has launch control at 3500 rpms and your speedo isn’t working that will cause launch control to engage in all gears

 

Sounds like limp home mode - scan the car and post the OBD1 codes

 

Has the problem always been there ? Is this and swap? If not what was the last thing done to the car before problem came up? Or did it just happen one day.....
