Default 89 CRX base model need help NOT TECHNICALLY INCLINED

Found 89 CRX base model the guy says it needs (in a drunken Facebook voice message) in needs a new coil pack(?) Spark plugs/spark plugs wires.
i can't figure out how much those parts and labor would be to fix. Very limited budget. I don't know what the hell he's talking about. Any help guys? I'm not a gearhead I jus like the cars, I don't know what even to Google to figure it out.

He says it needs a new distributor as that's where the pickup coils that starts the car goes(?) And it needs all 4 new coils and then new spark plugs and wires for that. I just don't know what parts to even look up or where to start. Please help.

The coil is inside the distributor and there is only one. If you get a complete new or remanufactured one, it's already replaced most of your ignition system. Plugs and wires are easy enough even for non mechanically inclined person. You should be able to get all of that from any major parts supplier or online. I suggest NGK for plugs and wires. As for the distributor, just get something with a warranty. Good luck.

there could be more reasons for it to not run besides the distributor, never assume its what they say it is......for all you know they know even less then you.

if it's getting no spark then suspect the distributor but diagnosis is in order first before straight out buying a new part.

buy the car and let it be a fun learner car

so first test would be is the distributor even getting 12 volt power to even create spark? (if not why..... bad wiring?.... broken clips or bent or broken/missing pins?.... worn or fail igniting switch?)

then is the distributor turning with the camshaft.... (is the camshaft turning?) (if not why.... broken cam?.... broken adapter from the cam to distributor?)

is timing correct and distributor on the correct cylinder to fire ? (if not why..... timing has jumped?
, distributor altered and adapter for camshaft placed on incorrectly?)

is the distributor in good firing condition ? (if not why..... cap worn? rotor worn or damaged ? wire or plugs worn or damaged? )

once all these are gone through then you can go from there

re; if you buy a distributor it has a (1) coil pack. You will need four spark plugs plus wires. If you know someone who semi mechanically inclined, they might be able to do that for you. You just have to have simple tool set. Maybe one or two other accessories for removals. If purchasing a distributor you should really think about a used honda. Aftermarket ones are usually made with crap parts. Good luck, stay safe

Unless it is a free car, I would suggest you get someone who is competent to inspect it. The possibility of you just putting some ignition parts on a car that old and driving it away ARE VERY, VERY SLIM.
