Help axle won't go in
I have had to put the old clip on the new axle a couple of times to get them to seat. Of course if you do that then dont bend the clip wider as it will be harder to seat in.
i usually do the hub side first, then the tranny side.
is it the correct axle?
i dont think ive had issue on that side. issues were always tranny side for me. that sometimes takes persuasion of using the knuckle to swing it in. careful not too much, or will damage the bearings.

Usually if the axle splines only want to go a little bit in the wheel hub, it's rusty and dry. Soak both splines with WD-40 and then grease both of them up good. I have had to wire brush the inside of the hub.
I just removed the axle from the tranny and took it over to the bench along with the hub/knuckle. I had to heat up and expand the hub splines and whack the axle down. Now the knuckle is back on the car. I don't think it'll ever come apart again.
Now I have a separate problem, I can't get the cv seated back into the transmission. I removed the clip and it still won't seat .

its a finesse thing....
need to keep rotating the axle ever so slightly to get it line up just right. a little jiggle, a little ramming in.
whered you get the axles?

It'll go. It's best to walk away and come back to it when things are being a pain that normally are easy peasy.
You can't get the axle started or can't get it to seat in the differential?

The splines are engaging a little, when I turn the brake rotor, I can hear the gears inside the trans spinning. There's just a 1" gap that the axle should still go in farther. I don't think it'd hold the new manual trans fluid at the moment.
