Default Ls/vtec (p75+b18b) oil leak

hey all, I'm new to ls/vtec and also the gsr head. I bought this car with the swap in it and found a few oil leaks, I have taken care of most of them but one is still leaking and I wanted to get some other opinions before I go about taking the head off.

Its leaking on the distributor side and running down the front of the transmission.

thanks in advance!

Not that your pictures shows the area involved but I suspect distributor.

Distributor or VTEC solenoid. There are two seals in the VTEC solenoid - one between the solenoid and head, and another between the upper and lower parts of the solenoid.

Ok, ill take a look at those, my biggest concern was that the leak was between the head and block and I was have to take the head off.. i didn't assemble the motor, I bought the car as it is.

I'll take a look at those 2 and see what I find and report back, thanks.

If it's the distributor, most times it's the O-ring, but I've also seen the shaft seal leak and then the oil comes out between the distributor cap and the distributor body.

Also where the oil ports are and the lack of any real pressure in most of them, I don't think I've ever seen a head gasket leak oil. The failure is typically somewhere near the cylinders/combustion chambers. Coolant is more common system to be affected by a blown head gasket. A cracked head on the other hand.... that definitely could depending on where it cracked.

It looks as though there is oil under the rear corner of the cylinder head where the block meets it. If you didn't spill oil when filling, there is a possibility that the plug in the VTEC inlet port of the head is leaking over the edge of the LS head gasket... or it isn't plugged at all. The best way to identify the leak on the side of the cylinder head is to clean and dry that corner of the engine thoroughly and crank the engine and run it up the street a mile or two. Park it and turn it off... then examine the leaking area. Look for the highest and furthest rearward location that is wet with oil. This is where your leak is.
