Hub City Performance AWD Trailing Arm kit review
After my experiences with this kit I thought it would be helpful to share my experiences installing this kit in my 90 CRX Si. I have wrenched on cars most my life and always love trying something new out. This led me to choosing a 90 CRX Si as the basis for a RWD Electric conversion and in that to hub city's product.
At $1500 dollars for the basic kit my expectations were that of K-Tuned or Hasport as far as fit and finish, as well as ease of install.
First Impressions/Shipping
Out of the box the pieces look great. The finish on both the trailing arms and lower control arms was pleasing and the packaging was more than adequate to protect everything. The main bushing is a Whiteline Greaseless one and it came installed the two main pivots tucked away in the resealed whiteline bag. All in all sitting in the living room with the box I was quite happy. This changed as I went to the garage.
Installation
It was here things started to go downhill some for me and my impression. First the lack of any kind of instruction on the install. This in itself wasn't enough to deter me as there isn't too much to a trailing arm install.
Where this first reared its head though was in the rear caliper and disk selection. Per Hub City's website I needed 94-01 integra rear calipers and rotors. I had acquired a rebuilt set of 95 calipers and some brand new rotors to go on. Became a little confused when the rotors were not clearing the calipers. After leaving a message with Hub City and not hearing back I gave another call and got through. Apparently there are some known rotors that won't fit! Would have been useful information! The second problem to arise here is the fact that since hub city is not using a cast bracket like stock the stock hardware is far to long for the kit. I was told to cut the bolts or find shorter ones. At 1500 bucks it is quite frustrating they can't include 4 correct bolts knowing stock ones wouldn't fit. Or at least offer them for sale. 4 cut bolts later and a new set of rotors and at least that all fit...
Next was getting the arms onto the car (minus calipers and rotors I just wanted to check fitment first)
The fit of the lower arms was great. A little disappointing to have to give up the Si's rear sway bar but sacrifices must be made for progress and I intend to fabricate something if I feel it is being sorely missed. Both Lower arms are clearly marked LH RH so there is no getting them on backwards and they went in quite seamlessly.
The trailing arms became a different story. For this I had bought some k-tuned upper arms and toe adjustment arms. After loosely getting the trailing arm hanging from its center pivot for the life of me I couldn't get the toe arms (compensator arms to some) to fit. The front of the trailing arm wasn't wide enough. To double check I got the original stock ones and they too wouldn't fit. After dropping the arms off and getting them onto my work bench it was clear that the mounting tabs were not parallel and the holes were not in line. I can not say if this was an issue with the construction, quality control, or something that happened in shipping. Some careful bending let the toe arm in and a little more work got the holes to line up so it could bolt in.
Back onto the car it went. Pivot on, upper and toes all connected I went to jack the lower arms up to finish the install. Except unlike the stock trailing arms which have a captive nut for the bolt to connect to there is none. Just a smooth powdercoated hole. Just another of many minor frustrations with this kit. For the price include the bloody nut because once again an afternoon got lost trying to hunt down two appropriate fasteners.
Final Thoughts
My interactions when I called regarding the rotors were a little off putting and I have yet to hear back on the issue with the toe arm fit and lack of captive nuts. When talking about the rotors I was just told "oh yeah we have issues with some just go try others I learned that after making the jig and am not changing it because some rotors don't fit.". It was far from confidence inspiring.
Overall I did get the kit to fit. But some form of instructions and known issues would go miles for a kit like this. As would either making the hardware included or at least an option. At the price point I expect better and ultimately was not impressed with the completeness of the "kit". Really it is just some of the pieces you need. Far from a complete kit to do the conversion. If I had to rate it I would give it a 3 or 3.5 out of 5. Because yes I managed to make it fit and it works but that was after solving problems that arose myself.

Update. Heard back from Justin who owns Hub City performance. He called to ask what was wrong. After explaining it and the frustration with the minor issues such as rotor clearance and incomplete hardware. He asked what I wanted. I replied that I was just trying to pass on frustrations so that perhaps a basic write-up or known issues could be included with the purchase. When I said it is frustrating to spend a decent chunk of money on something to start running into problems.
His response was "You spent $1500 dollars. I am getting frustrated and hanging up"
Being hung up on because a shop isn't willing to add a couple words to a description of an item or include a single page of instructions is about the worst customer service I have experienced in some time. Also suggesting 1500 dollars isn't worth that much when it is one of the single most expensive parts of the build is also near infuriating.
In light of this I can't say I recommend this kit and would suggest trying one of the other available ones such as from S1built or another shop as I feel mildly insulted by Hub City and their treatment of a customer.

OH SHI! What a very unpleasant person. Sorry you had such a bad experience, but thank you for sharing it. Seems that good customer service is getting harder and harder to find leaving us customers feeling pissed off and and pretty unappreciated. I think more people need to get on these forums and share their good and bad experiences with businesses so that we are well informed and these businesses cannot hold any power over us. I am always praising or outing companies on my build thread just so others can know what they are getting into. And yeah, for us budget builders, $1500 is a lot for us. So that guy really needs to do some soul searching and find out if being in this line of work is doing anyone any good. Or just go F@#K himself.

Thanks for the heads up, I have this kit on its way & it'll be going on my Rex. Imo I can't say I've met a mod that doesn't have some sort of collateral attached to it.
I'm just amazed how some of these companies treat their customers. Social media has blown up. This isn't just on HT now. You can't have bad customer service now a days. I wish I had gone with my gut feeling on the kit I purchased. It's turning into a **** show quickly. I would have gone with S1 built if I could do it all over again. I have their struct forks. And the customers I received has been awesome.

I once met the HCP guys at a No Prep event.
Idk if they were trying to keep the ONE and only Honda there a secret, or if they just weren't friendly but they came off rude and didn't take well to small talk. One guy even closed the hood while I was telling the other guys I wanted to buy there kit soon for my K20 car lol
.
All that said, they still had a wicked fast Honda. Especially considering it was a slick no prep surface. I guess it inspired me to still get a kit at the time, but after finding out about S1 I was relieved. I think I'll be doing more homework and most likely go with S1 built. I watched S1's complete install on Youtube and it looks to be beefed up components that fit well. That Alpha 6 drag trailing arm looks legit from the photos.
