Driver's Side mirror replacement
My 2010 Civic had the driver-side mirror damaged during the recent storms in my area. I ordered a complete assembly from Ebay to replace it (got it for about the same price as the glass from O"Reilly and I thought I might need some of the other mechanism as well).
A few questions:
1) Is it easier to replace the glass or just swap out the entire mirror? It looks like the glass just pops out with the right tool, and snaps back in. How hard is this to do without breaking it?
2) The mirror assembly I ordered is the wrong color (which I kinda knew). My car looks like crap (nice job on the paint, HONDA!!!!) so I don't really care but if I need the mechanism out of the one I bought I would prefer to just swap it into the housing on the current mirror, which is undamaged. how hard is that to do?
Thanks in advance.
