JDM B16A timing and timing belt issues
So I have a 89 JDM b16a swap into an ek civic. I am very close to getting it running but when I was double checking everything I noticed that my engine was out of time. So I pulled the valve cover off and who ever had the motor before me did not time it right, the cane gears were not lined up, and the crank line wasn’t either. So I pulled the belt off and noticed that it was on backwards as well, so when I flipped it around the right way I went to put it on and it would not fit onto the cam gears evenly. I timed it just like the diagrams showed, and every time I tried to put it on it would either slip out of time or it would not go into the grooves right. I’m very confused at this point so I need help.
just as long as the belt teeth are inwards, there is no direction the belt should be. LOL
Rotate and set the crank pulley to TDC
Align the 2 cam gears level to TDC
loose up the belt tensioner
Put on the belt, with the looser tension on the left side (between exhaust cam gear and crank pulley).
Pull up on the tensioner lever to tighten up the belt tension.
Torque tensioner bolt to 40 ft lbs.
Rotate the engine one entire revolution COUNTERCLOCKWISE so that the crank pulley is back to TDC.
*** REMOVE the socket wrench you used at the crank pulley ****
Check to see if the 2 cam gears are still level. The exhaust gear will be at a tad lower, but level than the intake gear. Both are parallel to one another.

Speaking of timing and everythign else i also have a jdm b16a and i need to know if i can use a b16a2 service manual for everything from timing adjustments to bearing clearances? I for the life of me cant find anything to confirm I dont want to make all the clearances ok for the engine and have it wrong.. Any help?
