I ordered the DW400 and an Airtex sock. I found out there is no way to install the sock because it doesn't fit the hole. Deatschwerks told me to use the green sock that came with it. What would you do?
I keep reading how you need to use the OEM style sock. If I can use the green sock then I will need to lob the bottom of the hanger off so it will fit.
I think I'll have to take the chance and remove the base of the hanger and just run the green sock that came with it. I only know of what other guy running this pump and that's what he had to do in his '98 civic.
The only issue you will likely run into using the green sock pictured in a 5G/6G Civic is that it may start sucking air at lower fuel levels in the tank... being that it won't fit flatter in the tank. I have had one for months that needs to be installed into my Supercharged Civic... looks like I need to figure out a solution for what you have asked here. I didn't know the stock style sock wouldn't fit. Thanks for sharing.
Anybody figure this out yet? Looking to buy a DW400 pump as well for a 1992 civic and there’s no info on it online, and when I called DW today nobody picked up after multiple attempts…
