Default best place/best way to install temp sending unit

hello I have a 2001 accord ex v6 did some troubleshooting and came to the conclusion im not getting temp gauge sinal out of pcm, however I can hook up ect to gauge and gauge works properly but car is acting up with gauge hooked up to ect sensor wire. so I decided to install a temp sending unit and run it to my gauge (c2) and just bypass the pcm and this should work. any input on the best way/location on how and were to install? I was thinking of some sort of tee and go into my upper radiator hose by thermostat housing with sensor in top of tee. any input guys? ty

Is the PCM just outputting any data or is it corrupted?
What does it show on a scanner?
Did you try running a temp harness between cluster and PCM to see if it's simply not a harness issue?
