trouble code 80/p0401 just clean egr ports and cel goes away!
hello,
just wanted to share that I had a trouble code 80/p0401 egr insufficient flow detected popping up everytime I would reset my pcm and I did some research and discovered this is a common issue in the 98-02 v6 accord and what happens is the egr port is small and carbon builds up and blocks the flow and makes the valve stick and not operate properly. DONT PANIC! I GOT RID OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR 4 BUCKS! all you need is a bottle of carb cleaner and some basic car tools and an hour or 2 of your time. Go on youtube and watch video on this and I suggest this is the first thing you try before going out and buying an egr valve that you do not need. Chances are this will prob be your problem as well. I haven't got the light back one time since I did the cleaning and I would say performance is even better. hope this helps someone have fun guys
