Icon5 SRS Light - DTC 15-2

Hello all,

I have a 2001 Accord EX-V6 with a little over 86,000 miles. The SRS light came on a few days ago, and has set a trouble code of 15-2. I'm aware of Service Bulletin #02-034 - SRS Indicator Comes On With SRS DTC(s) 15-1, 15-2, 15-3.

SRS DTC 15-2 (faulty side airbag indicator light circuit)

PROBABLE CAUSE

DTC 15-2
• A faulty OPDS unit
• Side airbag cutoff indicator (SIDE AIRBAG; SIDE AIRBAG OFF in later models) is faulty.
• Fuses in certain circuits (such as the odometer) blow or are removed while the ignition switch is turned to ON (II)
• Any part of the SRS circuit (particularly the gauge assembly) is disconnected while the ignition switch is turned to ON (II)
Any recommendations on diagnosing the exact problem here? I believe the last possibility can be ruled out, as the light came on while I was driving the car. I don't think it's likely a blown fuse either. The car runs and drives fine, and I haven't noticed any other issues that could be attributed to a fuse. I suppose it might be worth pulling and checking all of them just to be certain, though. So, between a faulty OPDS unit or airbag cutoff indicator, is there a way for an amateur driveway mechanic to determine which might be responsible?

Appreciate your help, folks!
