Default F23a1 swap

Sup guys, got a jdm built f23a1 on the way with a new computer, couple questions, is it possible to bore out the head and put oversized pistons and stuff in, if so is there a f or h series set I can put in instead of having to find a random right size parts, also what is swappable to my engine from the h and f series engines that would produce more hp as far as head plenum tb and everything is concerned?

If the engine hasn't shipped yet, cancel the order and get a H23VTEC bluetop swap(harness/PCM) instead.
If your gonna purchase a replacement and change it, might as well get as complete one that is similar to what you want to do anyway.
The initial outlay is more, but you'll have a more complete setup ready to run soooner.
It's the small parts/gaskets and items you don't have that will nickel and dime you.

If your car is not an EX, your current F23 may be the SULEV A4(similar to A1 but different) or the non VTEC A5 which requires a PCM and rewiring to get the VTEC to function on the F23A1.
Look between the water outlet and exhaust manifold, and down. There is a pad on the block that will have a large F23A# which will identify which F23 you have.

Might want to look through the FAQ at the top of the page on engine swaps, upgrades and the like, save you some time on asking questions.

Thanks for letting me know where to look to identify current engine, another problem I have is I bought it at a dealership with what I’m pretty sure was a rebuilt or salvage engine so might be vtec engine with non vtec ecu not sure is there any way of checking vin number or codes to find out? Also decided I’m doing a g23 using my f23 block and an h23 head (and engine has already shipped literally just made a drop off appointment lol) so I’m taking the head off new engine and using it on old block and taking my time to build from the block up on the f23 just doing more and more research for pistons and other internals seeing as how can’t bore frm that comes with the h series

Look at the PCM part number, that will identify what it is for/from.
