2000 Civic Si won't start
So, I bought this Civic about 9 months ago and the first issue that it started giving me was that it would not start at times, I would have the key in the run position for a couple of seconds before it did anything, it would eventually start. It was not until a month ago the car would simply not start. I checked my battery and my starter. Battery and starter are fine, no issues there. Once I would put the key in and turned it to the on position all of the lights in the cabin went off, it was like the cabin was not getting any power at all. I looked up what were common issues and I blindly replaced my ignition switch with a brand new oem one from Honda, since those usually go bad. I then seen I was getting power again so I go to try and turn it on and it turned on, drove it that day and everything seemed fine until the next day I went to go and turn it on, same thing, I put the key into the on position could not even go into the run position before everything in the cabin turned off, no power. I started doing some basic diag. trying to see if I was getting any power in the cabin, the only place that I was getting power from was my main relay, I was not getting any power from my fuse box under the dash. One of my co-workers said that it could be a relay that is getting hot and as soon as it cools off it brings back power into the cabin, I really want to find this issue so I can get the car back on the road as it should be. I forgot the mention that it unfortunately does not have the original B16A2 motor, it is swapped with a B20B. If anyone has any suggestions or any idea's to help, I would greatly appreciate it.
The car has actually started the past two days, but when I was having this issue, absolutely nothing would light up, not the headlights, hazards, turns signals or anything, it was like it wasn't getting power to anything in the cabin.
Could be a bad ground, or power connection to the fuse box under the hood. Check the ground cables by the thermostat housing and the power cable going into the fuse box. Also check the ground connection to the chassis on the battery
