can you jump the low fuel wire into the fuel gauge wire to get it to turn on light?
hello I diagnosed my fuel gauge sender to be bad my low fuel light does not come on. tried to change it but the 8 screws are rusted on there solid and its not worth all the trouble to go thru that and possibly damage the tank. my question is If I jump the fuel gauge wire into the low fuel wire (lt.green/red) will it read when there is low fuel and turn the light on? any input would be appreciated thanks guys.
Just my opinion, but I would not mess with it then. Just don't get so low on the fuel. I'd be worried you are more likely to have something else go wrong if you start jumpering in wires and fuses start popping or worse.
its a good opinion lol I just know u can do amazing things with wiring just thru that out there for any electricins that's might know if u can. if the fuel gauge wire is telling the gauge how much fuel there is its not a crazy thought to think it mite trigger the low fuel wire when it gets to that level for the light to come on
The reason I bring it up in this case is because I have discovered the fuel light is sensitive (at least my experiences seem to indicate that). For example, I once had the low fuel light not work. I finally discovered there were several bulbs that were out in the dash, so I replaced them all and voila the fuel lamp worked again. So....what did I do? I saw a video about people switching the bulbs in the dash out for LED lights, so I decided to do the same. I switched out all the bulbs for LED lights and guess what happened? The Fuel Lamp decided to stay on all the time. Grrr...so I switched them all back to the normal bulbs, and everything worked right again. So, based on this I just think it's very sensitive to voltage and amp draw. Which is why I wouldn't mess with it by jumpering in additional wires or load because it might trigger another problem. Of all the problems you can have, having no low fuel light is very low
well said bro. I diddnt mess with it yet cause like u said its not that bog of an issue its on the bottom of my list but ty for the input. hey what do u think about me tapping a temp gauge sender into my radiator hose and running the wire to my temp gauge u think that would work?
Is this a different question from the first? Your temp gauge doesn't work either?
To get a good reading of temp, you will need a sensor to get into the flow of the liquid, the temp of the hose will be too low and not accurate of the engine temp. You would need to drill a hole and add a sensor somewhere in the radiator or engine, screw in a sensor, and then run it back to a gauge.

NEWCIVIC yes it is 2 different issues my temp gauge is not working also. in my car I should be getting the signal to my gauge from the pcm but I am not so im going to wire it up like the 98 99 models and hopefully it works
that's my plan I ordered a temp gauge sending unit and im gonna run it to c2 on my cluster just like the 98 99 models hopefully that works ill post after I try it. first im gonna hook the sending unit to my gauge and dip it in a cup of boiling water and if my gauge works im gonna install it in my upper radiator hose and post an update after. I hope it works wish me luck lol

civic u responded to my other thread about the temp gauge. ive been thru hell and back w this thing but I think I figured out a solution that might actually work. can I tap out the ect sensor wire and wrap it around the bottom of the sending unit sensor and it will get the signal or do I ave to tie it into my radiator hose so the coolant touches it?
