Default Tuning crossover for front rear and sub

Hello all,

I've been adjusting the crossover frequency in my Civic and it brought me to a question about adjusting when you have a tweeter in the dash, a woofer in the front door, 6x9s in the rear deck and then a subwoofer.

So, I have the tweeters in the front at 4k for now (sounds best to me and pink noise generator seems to confirm it's a good setting), then I set a 250Hz filter on the front woofers, and the subs sound great to me at about 50Hz. But I'm not sure what to set the rear deck 6x9s at. Should I set them at 250Hz like the front woofers, or is there a philosophy to set them at a different settings. Tinkering with the settings, I'm not sure, so I thought I would ask. Right now I have them set at 250Hz.

Thoughts, suggestions, guidelines, appreciated.

Remove the rear 6x9 and you will definitely have better sound. No need to have them when you have a sub in the trunk space.

I've thought about that as an answer as well, but for now I'm more trying to understand what frequency to filter at if they were to stay. It's not just for this car but for other tuning I might do in the future, because I don't think this is an unusual setup in a vehicle. So, I guess another to look at this is as a learning experience. I can tune to the best and then remove and compare what the sound system sounds like.

Thanks.

Removing the 6x9 speakers and reinstall the grilles, if you have them. The holes will act as ports for the bass waves to enter the sitting compartment. Trust me on this. I dealt with this on my old '95 Accord coupe. What brand/model front speakers do you have in the doors? Hopefully something decent...
