Default Dies and than runs fine

96 accord 2.2 occasionally when say less than 1/2 tank while driving at 65 care seams to die for two seconds or three and then runs just fine again.
I am thinking fuel pump is getting weak i have a code for EGR but i do not think it is the issue.i love this car and has never left me stranded well that is a lie but it is damn reliable. Thanks

OK, pure guesses here. I think the first thing is to check the fuel pressure to see if that's the pump. You can rent one from the auto parts store. Then I would plug it in, and tape the gauge to the windshield while you drive around to see what the pressure is when on full tank (or above half at least). Then see if it changes when below half a tank. If it doesn't change, I don't think it's the fuel pump. If it is...then I guess you are onto the right answer. If that doesn't show anything, however, then maybe it's the fuel vapor locking up somewhere. I would open the gas cap to vent it when below a tank and see if the problem goes away. If it does, maybe the vent canister isn't working right, maybe you can clean it out. If none of that is it, I would have guess a gas vapor lock in the lines. It does happen. Fixing that can sometimes be resolved with wrapping the lines to protect it from the heat. (usually though you see this in summer, not winter, but it can happen, just less likely).

Last idea is it's the fuel filter. That could also produce a low pressure on the fuel pressure gauge you rented.
Replacing that is here:

Wow thank you for the pressure test and vapor canister. I will check the fuel system with pressure gauge when driving. And not sure if the EGR code would affect the canister since that is for fuel vapor return. I will get back and see what i discover. And it does not happen regularly it is very random and could be weeks in between.. By the way only happens at speed when cruising to and from work after about 5 miles of 15 mile drive

Good luck, report back if you solve it or what the readings come back as.
