Default P28 or P30 ecu for DC2R

Hi All

Need an ECU that I will socket ready for a tuning platform.

Which is better, out of the 2 for a dc2r Australian version ? I read that p28 disabled knock sensor which would obviously not be ideal?

The knock sensor in an OBD-1 ECU is essentially to save the engine from ignorant owners who put substandard fuels into their tanks. The engines get too noisy above 5000 rpm, so the knock sensor turns off above that. So the P30 will only help you if you put 87 octane in your Type R. Otherwise, the circuit pathways inside the two ECU's are identical. Each can do (and will perform) the same with any tuning solution.
