Hub has to be replaced with wheel bearing?
Greetings. I have a 93 Honda Civic DX. I've had the car so long that I get "feelings" when something is about to go out on it. Has 210,000 miles on the chassis so these feelings come often. Want to do some preventative maintenance and I feel like it's time to change the wheel bearings. I'm gonna replace them with OEM NTN or Koyo so that I can maybe get another 200k miles out of them. Front knuckles, brakes, etc. are all stock. Rear has disk brake trailing arms from a Del Sol SI. I see the front wheel bearings are sold separately from the hubs on the front but not the rear. Can I purchase the bearings separately for the rear and press off old and then press on new bearings onto the hub or is that not possible? Should front hubs be replaced with bearings as well? Just wanna know cause OEM is expensive and I'd like to save as much money as possible without sacrificing quality.

Well,
- you have to push the old wheel bearing out
- they sell the wheel bearing separate, be it oem or oem-style
so the next thing to look for is
- how bad are the bearings that they can't be pressed out and replaced? Sometimes if you never replaced them and didn't know how to tell if they were bad then they your wheel locks up but not because its not your brakes that is when you know its time to inspect if the bearings can be pressed out.

the only scenario that it would be sensible to proactively replace hub bearings with no symptoms of wear is if you were regularly tracking the car.
