Default Product Inquiry: Using VP Coolant. Is this a good option to use?

Anyone with a turbo application running VP coolant and actually notice a drop in temps? Having a cooling issue even with a 170 degree thermostat with a couple holes drilled in it. Did a leak down and it’s all good. Not sure if it could be my pump gas tune or what but i was just told about VP’s coolant.

What's your setup again? Engine, mods, turbo, etc..

ERL superdeck 2 B16, full race turbo kit, 3567 on pump gas to cruise. Having an issue with cooling. Has silicone hoses, old *** fluidyne radiator with a spal pusher fan, 170 degree hole drilled in thermostat with 50/50 coolant.

Is that a full ram manifold? Also, what chassis? Off the bat, I'm thinking radiant heat. You may be getting cooling issues due to airflow to the radiator, or the old *** fuidyne. Lol!

Have you tried 100% distilled water and a bottle of water wetter?

What CFM is your fan rated for? I'd recommend switching to a puller fan, getting the SPAL with the highest CFM that will fit, and running a large gauge wire and relay to your fan. I like running a shroud, but some don't. I would also look in your tuning software and see what the ECU's settings are for fan control. I have mine set to come on over 185F and stay on until 91 mph.

From what I've heard, a lot of high HP Hondas use regular coolant along with distilled water. I highly doubt VP coolant is any better.

I have a Superdeck 2 B16A block, and the previous owner had cooling issues and it was determined that the deck plate was not perfectly flat. ERL repaired it and all was good in the world again. Incidentally, he also had a Full Race A/C turbo kit with a Garrett journal bearing T3/4 57 trim. It made 483 whp @ 18psi on pump gas.
