1980 Civic 1500 Ignition Timing
Hey guys! I hope someone can help me with this, I'm sure it's something dumb that I am overlooking...
I am replacing the distributor on my civic. I marked the position of the rotor, and the the body, pulled the old one, switched everything over and installed everything. Now my car won't start. Unable to get it to start I started moving the rotor around (dumb) now I've lost TDC. Looking at the lower timing belt cover and the cam pulley I don't see any notches to indicate TDC alignment. I pulled the #1 spark plug and turned the engine until I had compression then lined up the rotor and tried again. Still won't turn over.
How can I be sure that I am at TDC for ignition timing? I can't find any guide marks or notches for the life of me!

I put the old distributor in and it turned over fine! I put the new one back in and nothing. I then checked for spark and got nothing. Bad part from the store?
