are you asking about the 5 speed gearbox or rear differential?

i agree gearboxes should use Honda MTF.


google says:
Rear differential lubricant (4WD models)
Above 41-degrees F (5-degrees C)............Hypoid gear oil (API GL5) SAE90
Below 41-degrees F (5-degrees C)............Hypoid gear oil (API GL5) SAE80

however, honda has some updated rear diff fluid for RT-AWD diffs like the CR-V i would recommend researching and using over some generic oil.
