How to verify timing if I messed it up while changing timing belt?
Today I was gonna change the timing belt on by B16A2 motor and everything was going fine, untill I was gonna remove the lower timing cover shield that is held up with different bolts.
Going in halfway on autopilot, I removed the bolts for the shield, and stupid me also removed the 14mm bolt that is for the tensioner that is accessed behind the rubber shield. The belt instantly became slack, and made the timing skip some tooths.
For the camshafts it was easy enough to correct by hand since I have a tool like this: However I had to remove the timing belt to align the camshafts, and now I'm kinda blind to where the timing is supposed to be on the crankshaft.
I know there is a mark on one of the teeth on the crankshaft gear that is supposed to line up with an arrow on the block, but the thing is that I am still struggling with removing the crank pulley bolt (my airtool didn't do the trick so I will try something else tomorrow) and I don't know how misaligned it is relative to the cam gears.
When i finally get the pulley off, and I am going to adjust the crankshaft with a wrench, how likely am I to damage something if I turn the engine the wrong way and piston hit valve? If that happens, should I be able to just turn the engine the opposite way untill I align the two marks?
Also, how likely am I to snap the crank pulley bolt if I am using a long cheater bar to get it off? That bolt is on there TIGHT, and nothing has worked in trying to remove it thus far.
Any advice and help is appreciated

Thank you for replies
So what I am getting is that it is no concern if the timing is off a few teeth (as long as I don't start the engine). I just get the pulley off, replace the belt, tighten everything correctly and I should be good right?
I don't have an Autozone in my country sadly, but I will see if there are any alternatives available for that tool.
