F22B DOHC CEL Code 6 and Weird Idle
Hello my name is Abdiel, and I have a 97 Honda Accord swapped with a JDM F22B from an old Prelude that has a check engine light. I went to autozone to see if it would find it but their OBD scanner said error, so i did the CEL trick and it blinked code 6, I tried to change a tps sensor and a coolant temperature switch and nothing worked. Also I have a weird idle, it goes low to about 1250 rpm but it goes to 1500 for 15 secs and then it goes back, i thought it would be the accelerator cable but it only helped decrease my idle a little. Please help!
Hello i also have a code 6 on my 2001 accord ex v6 and have symptoms of high idle.i started by changing the ect sensor try that.my temp gauge was not working so I ran a wire from c26 at pcm to c2 at cluster.my temp gauge works now but still throwing the 6.did research and 6 means a prob with the ect circuit.like I said start by changing the ect sensor and if that don't work check the wiring for an open or a short.do u know if the yellow/green wire at c2 connector (right side back of cluster) controls anything else other then the temp gauge?any wiring diagrams?ty bro
also you might want to check out your temp gauge sending unit /wiring if you are having issues to your temp gauge. both the ect sensor and sending unit are really cheap to replace I would deff replace both of thlose and your code 6 will prob go away. if not it prob going to be in the wiring somewere in the ect circuit. but as for the high idle I have the same issue with the same 6 code from my cel. what I think it is (not positive this is just y guess) is that the ect is telling the pcm that the engine is cold and needs more fuel that's why the idle is getting high at park. anyone have any input/ideas about that thought? ty guys any wiring diagram of a 2001 ex v6 ect circuit would deff be appreciated. have a good night everyone
