I got this 1990 EF hatch that some guys did a full swap, wiring from head to tail. Engine , trans. Even fitted the dash in the ef. The car was running after the swap then the main relay tripped an no more fuel pump so they jumped the wires at the relay an said they burned up the fuel pump an got fed up with it an now I have it,.. so today I got the time to look at the car. I turned it over with the jumper in the relay while the fuel pump was running I tried it, an nothing so I checked for fuel at the rail, nothin! So I check for fire , nothing! So where do I start. Maybe replace the relay? An FYI I don’t wanna spend much money That’s the new engine D15 This is the EF
on this fix
Sounds like the people that did the swap. Had to deal with a no start due to no fuel and The relay they were using tested good. So instead of searching the harnes From relay to fuel pump for a short to ground they bypassed The relay with a toggle switch. That’s how it’s set up now. So That’s the way it has to be. Try another relay. could the pump have burnt out if you turn off the car and forget to the un flip that toggle switch? If you put in a new pump then maybe the wires got burnt or if your lucky then there is a fuse for the toggle switch and you can just replace that now. Then see if you get fuel to the fuel rail.
