hello guys.....

anyone know the exact function of each wire

one connector is from the fuel pump and the other is from the fuel sending unit .... but I need to know the function of each wire

98 EK9 OBD2a wiring harness

2 wires
black
white/green




3 wires
black
white/black
green/yellow

 

2 Wires:

• Black - Ground
• White/Green - Not Sure

3 Wires:

• Black - Ground
• White/Black - Reference Voltage (Fuel Level)
• Green/Yellow - Fuel Pump Relay Signal (Power)

Fuel pump
Black - ground for fuel pump
Yel/Grn - main relay power for fuel pump

Fuel Tank Unit
Grn/Yel - ground for low fuel warning light in cluster
Yel/Blk - ground for fuel gauge
Blk - ground for both fuel tank thermistor and fuel gauge sending unit

(Old yellow wires look white)

 

For 96-98:





As muellersfan pointed out, the yellow color falls out over 22 years of riding around in a car.
