Default High RPM

I have a 1999 accord 4 cylinder that seems like it has a high rpm. While driving about 75 mph its running right at 3000 rpm. Is this normal?

My 03 Honda accord does the same thing trying to figure out what's causing my car to start losing any power an wont really have any acceleration while trying to press the gas pedal it will like to sputter out an then die until i get a jump? I was thinking something to do with my air system or fuel pressure regulator so please if anybody has have the same issues please tell me what you got fixed for it to start running again!!

It depends which transmission. A manual transmission is geared a bit lower (higher numerically) than an automatic in top gear. My 1999 5MT is around 2475 rpm at 65mph. At 70 it still hasn't reached 3k rpm. That's very reasonable IMO. At 75mph 3k sounds about right with either, as I believe there's not a huge difference with the gearing in the two transmissions with the Accord.

I prefer manual transmissions, but when looking at Honda CR-Vs with manuals, 65mph is around 3200rpm. The 2005 and 2006s with the 5 speed automatic is around 2,000-2,100 rpm at the same speed.
