Default evap purge valve (canister) leaky

Hi everyone,

Need some inputs on what this substance (clear feels like brake fluid) is on my evap purge canister valve. I just noticed it right now.
Sorry for the big picture. I got it off my phone. If you have any information on this please let me know. Thanks!

Check for leaking brake and clutch lines near the canister.

Hi muellersfan,

That's the first thing I checked, nothing. I found on youtube that someone had the same problem but the video starter said to look in the service manual. I'll look in my book and see if I find anything.

The service manual doesn't say anything about any oily substance in the evap canister.

Let me know if you had this kind of issue. Also, when I try to start my car it cranks a bit until it starts completely.

What car do you have? Manual or auto?

If a buddy presses and holds down the clutch pedal, do you see fluid spraying from a tiny pinhole in the adjacent clutch line?

Losing any fluid from clutch or brake reservoir?

Do you see any accumulation fluid under the leak area (axle, transmission, engine) when you raise the front end and crawl under the car?

I found the culprit. Its my fuel pressure gauge. It has that fluid in gauge so the needle doesn't bounce around. I believe its leaking from there.
