Anyone know where one could find one in good condition or... aftermarket new (which i doubt)? I've already called all the local junkyards, a few people selling prelude parts, and searched on ebay (where I've only seen 97-01 gas tanks). I've been at it for a while now and can't seem to find one. I need one 'cause mine is all rusty on the inside and it's sending all that dirt up to the injectors, clogging them up pretty bad.

 

I had to pull my 5th gen tank out of a scrap yard car. There was an eBay replacement but it was $700 usd

 

Ok, I haven't found someone that wouldn't sell the parts car as a whole. Although, I just found someone willing to sell me one and I don't know what to offer. How much do you think would be a fair price for one?

 

Depending on how bad it is inside, you may be able to clean it and re-seal the inside metal yourself.

 

I was looking into tank sealers and found a few, does POR-15 or something similar work well? I've tried cleaning the inside with degreaser and vinegar (someone told me it worked for rust) but it really didn't do much. Maybe making a window on the top of the tank and scrapping as much rust as I can? Or will that just ruin the tank completely?

 

I've heard the POR-15 treatment works well, but I've never used it. You need to get something abrasive down in the tank and shake it up- a piece of chain, rocks, etc. I'm sure the POR-15 people have suggestions for cleaning before sealing.
