I have a 97 civic ex. I know it’s not the the original motor, I’m just trying to figure what exactly is on it. Block is stamped D15B but the head is a P2J-5 stamped 95. What head is on it exactly?

Also what would be good parts to put into this motor for a turbo build?

 

What ECU is installed in the car?

Any CEL codes thrown?

no CEL. Car runs perfectly fine. It’s had the same motor for 6 years.

 

Looks like it could be a D16Y8 vtec head planted on a JDM D15B block. The block is going to be the question as there is at least 3 different D15B variants and the pistons and crank are not the same through the flavors.

 

Post a picture of the front left side of the head where the 3 circles are. Likely just an early y8.
