Default Having trouble with eg.

I recently purchased a eg bubble, it’s swapped with a b16a2, and has a gsr head, and a ls transmission, skunk 2 intake manifold, golden eagle fuel rail, intake and headers, and a port and polished head, with a cosmetic head gasket. The car feels like it isn’t pushing the power it should though, feels very weak before and in vtec. I rebuilt the dizzy, changed sparkplugs, got a new harness, but can’t figure it out, I checked the psi in each cylinder and their all near the same (110-115) but that seems low could thag be my problem and if so what should I do rebuild the whole motor?

110-115 compression tested dry or wet?

if dry then test again with couple drops of oil in each cylinders and see if it jumps up.

If it does then your rings are worn and needs a rebuild or the person you got the car from hasn’t properly broken in the rings if he rebuilt it.

ill do a wet test tomorrow after work, now when you say rebuild do you just mean piston rings? Or rebuild the whole thing..

The rings will need to be replaced with new ones. But while your in there it would be wise to replace the rod/main and thrust bearings if the motor has a lot of mileage on it while it’s taken apart.

I just saw you have a ls tranny. That mated with a vtec engine will hold you back too (speed/power wise). Ls gears are long and make you fall out of vtec when you hit the stock vtec redline. It’ll be ok to drive in but if you want speed/power then look for b16/Gsr/type r tranny that was made for vtec motors.

also get that cel light fixed too.
