Default B16 Swap low coolant temperature

Hey, I had mild overheating issues with my car w/ AC on after my B swap was done, and decided to switch over to a full size radiator. That made a huge difference, car runs a lot cooler and the fan doesn't kick on unless I'm in traffic. IATs stayed under 90. Car has OE thermostat (19301-PAA-306).

I'm concerned because looking at the temperatures after driving around town a little today it never really got over 185, even after hammering on it a bit (3rd gear pulls, WOT, etc)

What temp is too low for our engines? I'm sure it won't be an issue as we approach summer but I was still driving it a bit over the winter and was concerned over any potential harm I've done.

I’ve never heard of an engine suffering any harm from lower coolant temps. You might get less mpg? But at 185 Fahrenheit I think that’s pretty good.

In my VW days I always read that under 190 the oil doesn't get hot enough to burn off contaminants from blow by.

Old Honda engines aren't nearly as sensitive to oil vapour issues as VW's.

I wouldn't be worried running at 185.
