Default Exedy ITR vs EM1 clutch kit differences

Refreshing a B16B CTR motor, and I need a new clutch.

From reading, it looks like almost all B series Hydro transmission setups use the same clutch. Looking at some sites in Europe, they actually list the same clutch for both the ITR,CTR, and SIR cars. So B18C, B16B, and B16A all running the same clutch.

So does anyone know why Exedy has a different clutch kit part number for the ITR than it does the SI? B18C5 vs B16A2, Diameters look the same on their site, as well as spline count. Part numbers are KHC05 and KHC12.

I have an email in to Exedy, but hoping for someone who knows the answer today.

The excedy itr will work . They make a oem itr replacement. People say they make the oem clutch for Honda . I can tell you there’s no markings to support that . The gsr oem also has a different part number. The differences visible between the clutches is the amount of metal on the disc. The pressure plates look the same but are different part numbers. The itr clutch will handle more power but should feel like a stock clutch. Personally , I feel the excedy oem replacement feels a little heavier on pedal feel than the oem clutch.

So would The B16A2 exedy should bolt up and work without issue on a B16B? Seems like it should no problem.

It would be weird if the OEM ITR unit held more Torque, as the same B16A2 clutch is listed for the B20Z on their site, which has as much torque as the ITR motor. So why have two different numbers?

Yes, they both work . I can assure you. The itr is a track car and uses more metal on the disc for track duties.
