Icon5 Daily driver suspension

For a daily driver that has to handle all weather, year round city and highway driving, is it better to go with poly bushings or spherical bearings? I'm not familiar with the latter so idk how they are in terms of service life.

Poly, Spherical gives better performance at a cost of shorter service life. Spherical is typically aimed at track cars that are rebuilt consistently.

Thank you TomCat39. I had a feeling that was the case but as technology's ever changing and evolving I had to ask.

Stock.

Poly urethane will ride like cap and make noises unless you regularly grease them

Chrysler kid: I know polly needs routine maintenance but stock bushing have too much play and deflection and trailing arm bushings especially also can tear over time in these roads.

I definitely would not use spherical on a daily. My research lines up with what these guys say. Polyurethane if you want some extra stiffness and don't mind lubing them periodically.

Freedo: you folks have been helpful in my planning. Do to previous employment, I'm accustomed to routine greasing service points on a vehicle.

I would not use poly on trailing arm bushings though. There needs to be some give in that bushing and poly does not have it in 98% of the cases. As such those bushings tend to get ripped constantly.

I did see one poly design with holes for the trailing arms once but have not seen them available for some time.

The trailing arm bushing is the one bushing in the car you don't want a solid bushing.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll investigate the modified poly trailing arm bushing you mentioned.
