Okay so yesterday I had my oil pan on my 02 accord v6 replaced and my mechanic showed me a handful of metal sitting inside the pan, car has had regular oil changes with 185k on the engine, car runs perfect so confused what has been wearing inside the engine. Anyone experience this or have an idea of what’s happening?
Why was the oil pan replaced?
How much of that stuff was magnetic?
Fairly dry for stuff that came out of an oil sump.
Looks like carbon or gasket material(black stuff).
If the engine makes no noise, oil pressure is good, and the PCV system is intact. I would suspect it was something that happened from a PO, or maybe the oil pan had been replaced before with a used piece that hadnt been cleaned prior to install.
