Default 1995 Accord starts and dies

Hi,

I am trying to find out whats wrong with my brother car. 1998 accord auto stock F23. The car starts and dies after few seconds. The CEL is on and gives Code 3 for map sensor. I replaced the sensor, inspected the wiring and even we ran new wires but still same. I cleaned the TB and iacv. I tried to swap the dizzy and did ecu reset but still acts the same. Any ideas what to check next? The spark plugs are new, fuel injectors recently cleaned.

1 - Have you checked and verified voltages going to the MAP sensor?
2 - Have you checked the ground? Loose ground could be issue. The two I can think of are at front of engine and the ground at the intake manifold.

If you keep your foot on the gas will it stay running?

If you leave the MAP sensor unplugged does it run or behave differently?

So with the MAP unplugged it runs (badly, but runs), but plugged in it dies?

No bro. I meant the tps. If I unplug the tps it will run badly. But for the map sensor if I unplug it, the same thing happens car will immediately die.

OK, I know this might sound silly, but could your TPS and MAP be plugged backwards into the wrong plugs?

When my car had similar symptoms- oil had gotten through the seal in the distributor. This stalled it. I bought another (distributor) online and lasted 1 yr before a camshaft code came up. I found an engine control module from another distributor (distributor fitment was different because of 5speed). Took my old distributor out, put new oil seal in, put ecm on it and it’s been running fine since (related to that problem).
