Default D16A6 in 89 Hatch STD axle problem.

Hey guys, so I've got an 89 Civic hatch STD with the 91 CRX So D16A6 motor, trans, and front knuckle. My issue is the axle keeps popping out of the u joint. The part with the splines that go into the transmission is good, it stays in, but the u joint that goes into that is what's popping out. From what I can tell it means the axle is short, but I've checked the crx hf si and hatch si std axles and they're all the same length. I was told an 89 Acura Integra had the same axles but a little longer but they are not the same splines. Civic/crx is 25in/26out while the teg ones are 27in/26out. I have also checked to see if any of my suspension parts are loose but after changing the axle a few times I haven't noticed anything loose or missing but I could be missing something. I'm considering getting a custom axle made but no one I've asked has had this issue or even heard of it so I can here as a last resort before I go have one made. What would you guys check or try before going that far.

Are you pushing the axle all the way in so that the circlip at the end of the axle locks it in place?

Where did you get the axle?

That part is starting in just fine, it's the u joint that goes into that part that's pulling out and popping. I've got them all from O'Reilly's

Again, the part of the axle that's being talked about here is not what's popping out, it's the u joint that is inside the boot attached to that part that's popping out.

I’m assuming this is a new axle you put in recently? I would either parts warranty it at O’Reillys - risky since they could give you the same type of shitty axle - or go with another supplier.

Just last year i put in some TrakMotive brand axles in my SOHC ZC (same as D16A6) from Rockauto and they are doing fine. I would try that before jumping to a custom drive shaft.

Are you replacing the axle every time the CV joint pops out? Or are you somehow putting the joint back together?
