Icon4 05 Civic LX Blend Door Replacement

Hey guys. I have a 2005 Civic LX Sedan. Heat only blows when my foot is on the accelerator. The heater core was leaking, so I've replaced the heater core. Still no heat except when foot is on the gas. So then I swapped out the thermostat. When the guy replaced my heater core he broke my blend door actuator and I just found that out. Could this be affecting the heat at all? I've tried looking up replacement videos and haven't had any luck finding any. I am being told I need to take out the whole dash, but I can see the blend door when laying on the floor of my drivers side. Does anyone have any suggestions? It's cold here in PA and I need my heat to work. Thanks!!
