2006 Honda Accord AT flush
Ok, so I’m looking to do a transmission flush on my Honda Accord with the V6 and I was just wondering a couple things and I may sound a little stupid when I ask these so please forgive me for my ignorance.
1. How much fluid does an AT on a V6 take because in the owners manual, it has two different measurements, change-3.2 qt and then it says total-7.4. I was just wondering what measurement I should go by for refilling it.
2. I was wondering what other sources there are to buy Honda ATF-Z1 fluid besides a dealership and amazon.
3. If you have any other suggestions or tips for doing an AT flush, it’d be much appreciated.

remove drain plug and you’ll get about 3 quarts out, I drain mine into a pan with measurement marks, I use valvoline max life and it shifts better than it did when it was new, change it, drive it around the block and repeat twice
Honda doesn't even sell Z-1 ATF anymore, finally realized its garbage. Too many shift modifiers for smooth shifts wear out the transmissions. Their new DW-1 ATF is significantly better. Redline D4 also works very well. Huge thread on transmission fluid for Honda automatics on Acurazine in the 3rd gen TL forum if you have a few hours to read through the threads.
You'll need 3 quarts for a drain and fill.
