Throttle position sensor problem has me absolutely stumped
My 03 2.4 coupe threw a light the other day and started shifting funny and idling high, so I replaced sensor and adjusted it to .48 at idle, things were fine until one day I went out to start it and it wouldn’t run worth a darn, plugged it into my scanner and it was saying 0% throttle, checked connection and it was good, so I brushed it off as a faulty tps, exchanged it and it still will randomly do it, I’ve definitely ruled out it being a connection issue because I can turn the key on and off a few times and it will jump up to 9% at idle and it runs great, never does it when I’m driving it’s only occasionally on a cold start. Any ideas ?
glad everyone is chiming in giving me any advice at all 🙄 I hooked a volt meter up to the 1st wire that is supposed to have 5 volts, it loses power then if I cycle the key once or twice it will then get the needed 5 volts, so I am going to guess ecm
Did you take the throttle body off and clean the carbon off the back and front of the throttle plate ,reinstall reset and do the throttle relearn procedure. When you checked voltage where you on the supply wire or the signal wire ?
