I just picked up a 1993 Del Sol and much to my surprise I find a B16A Gen 2 with a PR3-2 head. So my question is - was there ever an OE option for this motor in this year? My research says 94-95 only but I don't trust Google. Release the hounds... What do I got and oh yeah I am a NOOB

 

The B16A3 did NOT come in the 1993 Del Sol here in the US. You said you have a B16A in the car, which would suggest someone before you did a JDM engine swap into the car... it did not come in it originally. How about posting a picture of your engine code stamp plate so we can help better.

So somebody did a swap - my research indicated the same but some times late model years weird stuff happens... good to know, and thank you!

Below are some pic's - being a noob, I am not sure if I did this right but just attached files. Anyway the head is stamped with a 94 and 2 (but I don't know what it means). What is the PR3-2 head stamp mean?. So, what do I got here (besides a lot of fun).

Soooo... the debate of turbo v supercharged but I sure would like 540 hp from my B. HELP
