B16 it cranks but wont start
Hi guys maybe you can help me out with this problem. My car was running good but i noticed that there was a small oil leak from the dizzy i i opened to change the oil seal and when i assembled eveything back together and went to start it back fired very loud and wont start i i changed the plugs checked for spark changed the module and regulator new battery but still wont start can someone tell me what could be the problem its a b16a1 on an ed7. When reassembling the distributor housing, it would be quite easy to re-install the distributor coupling 180-degrees out of phase, if you did not note its original position.

Verify that the coupling is currently installed in the correct orientation by setting the mechanical timing at TDC1 and checking whether the distributor rotor points at plug wire #1 in the distributor cap.

loud backfire often means but isnt restricted to bad timing. check the wires and the part of the dizzy that meets the cam to ensure its not backwards. I would check out the rotor and cap just to be safe as well.
